Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • BS or AS in mechanical engineering/mechanical design/industrial automation or comparable program. Will also consider individuals with 3+ years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Experience in machine design and mechanical design considerations involved with robotics
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • CAD skills including Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks
  • Working knowledge of various fabrication methods including, basic machining, welding. Candidate does not need to be proficient in these skills, but must be aware of limitations and considerations these processes impose on mechanical design.

Expectations

  • Employee should anticipate working 50+ hours per week.
  • Employee should anticipate the possibility of both short and long term travel.
  • Employee must be willing and able to fly.
  • Employee must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable on the Quest insurance policy.
  • Employee must be legally able to work within the United States.
  • Employee is subject to random drug tests.
  • Employee must be able to lift 60lbs. in a repetitive manner.
  • Employee will also need to be able to complete other tasks as required in order to complete projects in a timely and proficient manner.

On a daily basis you will work on the construction of new robotic automation projects, as well as, travel to customer sites to work on existing equipment. Both over the phone trouble-shooting and travel to offsite locations are required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills and the desire to work.
  • PLC programming, HMI development and troubleshooting skills.
  • General understanding of automation; including but not limited to: high-speed assembly
    machinery, SCADA / Gantry / Six-Axis Robotics, FANUC robots and general automation
    technology.  Familiarity of AutoCAD electrical is a plus.
  • A minimum Applied Science (2-year degree) with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation or Robotic Programming. Employer will also accept individuals with over 2 years full time working experience in related fields.

Position Description

Project Managers are responsible for customer satisfaction, commercial success and staff development on the projects they lead. Quest is looking for an individual that can manage a rolling portfolio of projects for several customer accounts and consistently deliver successful projects.

Quest’s customers are most often manufacturing managers, maintenance leads and senior controls engineers working in process manufacturing, research or related facilities. Project work involves some or all of design, build, test, deliver/install, start up and providing post project support.

Characteristics

  • PM must be an effective communicator.
  • PM must be able to multi-task.
  • PM must possess industrial knowledge (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, robotic, etc.)
  • PM must be able to motivate others.
  • PM must be able to travel and work irregular hours

Qualifications

  • The position requires an ability to simultaneously manage a range of project sizes with varied commercial values for a diverse portfolio of customers. PM will be involved will all aspects of assigned projects from concept to sign-off, as well as, long-term customer support.
  • Project pre-execution responsibilities include working with Sales Account Managers and estimating Engineers to ensure proposals include well defined deliverable and a supporting delivery work plan with detailed tasks, budgets, resources and schedules that build up to each deliverable.
  • PM must effectively plan, direct, coordinate, communicate and report internally to his/her team and externally to the customer.
  • PM must work as a partner with fellow Quest managers and laborers. The PM develops project timelines to manage work scope and stay on plan for schedule and hours budgeted.
  • PM maintains a continuous reporting status to both Ownership and Senior Management on all projects assigned. The position requires reporting of each assigned project’s progress, scope, schedule and resource information and customer service follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and involvement in presentation of the solution to customer.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
  • Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
  • Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget
  • Troubleshoot industrial controls, including: PLC’s, high voltage (AC & DC), motors drives, unique equipment.
  • Utilize experience in modern field wiring practices of NEC/NFPA including: conduit and cable management for original industrial equipment.
  • Repair and adjust electrical components controlling mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment.
  • Effectively engage in a small team, personal, and business professional settings.
  • Help manage and control various inventory. All employees are required to maintain high
  • quality in all areas and help detect potential or actual deviations from the organization’s plan and operations of the business unit. This ensures high-quality performance and satisfactory results while maintaining an orderly and problem-free environment.

Qualifications

A minimum (2-year degree) in Electrical Engineering, Process Controls, Mechatronics or Industrial Controls. Employer will also accept individuals with 2 years full time working experience in related fields.

A general understanding of automation, including but not limited to: high-speed assembly machinery, SCADA / Gantry / Six-Axis Robotics, and general automation technology, including the programming elements to create such automation. Possess strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
